Sudoku, meaning single number in Japanese, was popular in Japan in the 80's and became an international hit in 2005, according to the widely acclaimed wikipedia. I have found much entertainment in these puzzles for quite a while now, doing them everyday, at least up until level 3. Sunday, I completed a level 4 sudoku! After learning the strategy to these logic puzzles I figured out how to solve any level. Time well used I must say!
