Today was the awards ceremony for the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. I was surprised to find out earlier this week that I would be awarded the Elizabeth A. Bennett Award for Excellence in Maternal and Child Health. Dr. Bennett was a leader in Maternal and Child Health for many years at Tulane and the award is given to a student who best exemplifies her dedication to the health of mother's and children. I must say I was very humbled to receive this, and I hope that this facet of my work is only further developed in the future.
